01 — The Client

AI Marketing Tools is a curated discovery platform built by AI expert to help marketers, founders, and creators cut through the noise of an exploding AI landscape. Where most “best AI tool” lists are shallow affiliate roundups, Justin set out to build something different — a serious, structured, continually growing knowledge base of the AI tools that actually move the needle for modern businesses.

The platform sits at the centre of a wider thought leadership ecosystem under Day by Day Digital, including the 7 Figure Thought Leaders community on Skool and a steady stream of long-form editorial content. The directory is the front door; the community is the destination.

Our brief was to build that front door — and to make sure the right people found it.

02 — The Challenge

This was not a brochure website. It was a content platform with the structural complexity of a SaaS product, the editorial discipline of a publication, and the personal-brand demands of a founder-led business. Each layer carried its own problems.

  1. Architecting a directory that could scale to hundreds of tools. Every tool listing needed to surface key features, use cases, pricing, pros and cons, and FAQs — in a structure consistent enough to be browsed quickly and rich enough to be useful.
  2. Designing filtering and discovery that actually helps users decide. Visitors arrive looking for something specific — an AI tool for video, for writing, for sales — and they need to get there in a click, not five.
  3. Building organic visibility against an enormously crowded SERP. “Best AI tools for marketing” is one of the most competitive content categories on the internet. The platform needed an SEO foundation strong enough to compete with established players.
  4. Establishing as the credible voice behind the platform. The directory needed to feel curated, not automated — driven by a real expert with a real point of view.
  5. Driving traffic into the wider ecosystem. The site is not the end of the funnel. It feeds the 7 Figure Thought Leaders community, the blog, and the broader Day by Day Digital brand — and every page had to earn its keep in that journey.

03 — Our Approach

We treated AI Marketing Tools the way a product team would treat a SaaS launch — with information architecture, content systems, and growth channels designed as one. Web, SEO, social, and paid were never separate workstreams. They were the four engines of a single platform built to compound month after month.

Pillar One — Web Design & Development

We built aimarketingtools.com as a modern, fast, search-friendly content platform that could grow indefinitely without losing its shape.

Directory sites live or die on structure. If a user can’t filter, browse, and decide in seconds, they leave. If a tool listing isn’t consistent, the platform feels arbitrary. We designed every template around a single principle: every visitor, regardless of where they land, should know exactly what they’re looking at and what to do next.

  • Custom WordPress build with a content architecture designed to scale to hundreds of tool listings
  • Standardised tool listing template — About, Key Features, Use Cases, Pricing, Pros & Cons, FAQs
  • Advanced filtering system covering category, pricing tier, and tool type (Paid, Freemium, Free, Open Source)
  • Editorial-grade blog section for long-form content, comparisons, and thought leadership
  • Founder presence woven throughout — CEO voice, expertise, and POV anchoring the platform
  • Performance-first build with WP Rocket caching, image optimisation, and Core Web Vitals tuning
  • Conversion paths directing users into the 7 Figure Thought Leaders community and email list

Pillar Two — Search Engine Optimisation

We built AI Marketing Tools to compete in one of the most saturated SEO categories on the internet — and gave it the foundations to win.

SEO for a directory platform is a different sport from SEO for a brochure site. The opportunity is enormous — every tool listing is a chance to rank for a high-intent query — but the work has to be done with structure, not shortcuts. Our strategy combined programmatic SEO discipline with editorial depth, so the platform could capture both the long tail of tool-specific searches and the broader queries marketers are typing every day.

  • Programmatic SEO architecture across the tool directory — consistent on-page structure, schema, and internal linking
  • Keyword strategy mapped across category, tool, and intent layers (e.g. “best AI video tool,” “Otter AI vs Fireflies,” “AI tools for sales”)
  • Editorial content programme producing long-form comparisons, use-case guides, and free-vs-paid breakdowns
  • Founder-led E-E-A-T signals — author bios, expert commentary, and original analysis throughout the platform
  • Technical SEO foundation built for speed, crawlability, and indexation at scale
  • Ongoing keyword tracking, content refreshes, and SERP monitoring to compound rankings over time

Pillar Three — Social Media Marketing

We turned Facebook and Instagram into the social arm of CEO thought leadership — a daily, consistent stream of value that pulls a real audience into the platform.

For a founder-led brand in the AI space, social is where authority is built in public. The audience here doesn’t want generic AI hot takes — they want sharp recommendations, real comparisons, and the conviction that the person behind the brand actually uses what they recommend. We built a content system designed to deliver exactly that.

  • Visual identity and content templates aligned with the AI Marketing Tools brand
  • Monthly content calendars covering tool spotlights, AI marketing tips, and trend commentary
  • Short-form video and carousel content positioning CEO as a recognisable AI voice
  • Repurposing blog content into platform-native social formats — comparisons, lists, breakdowns
  • Community management funnelling engaged followers toward the directory, blog, and Skool community
  • Consistent posting cadence designed to compound organic reach over time

Pillar Four — Paid Advertising

We ran paid campaigns that didn’t just drive traffic — they built audience. Every dollar was spent to deepen the funnel, not just to fill the top of it.

For a content and community brand, paid media works differently than it does for an e-commerce or SaaS product. The goal isn’t a one-click sale — it’s qualified attention. Our campaigns were designed to find the right marketers, founders, and creators, route them into Justin’s content ecosystem, and let the depth of the platform do the conversion work over time.

  • Meta campaigns targeting marketers, founders, and content creators researching AI workflows
  • Google Search campaigns capturing high-intent tool, comparison, and category queries
  • Retargeting flows nurturing visitors with editorial content and community invitations
  • Dedicated landing pages tuned to drive sign-ups for the 7 Figure Thought Leaders community
  • Continuous A/B testing of hooks, creative, and audience segments
  • Reporting tied to qualified audience growth — list sign-ups, community joins, and return visits — not vanity clicks

04 — The Outcome

AI Marketing Tools went from concept to credible authority — a platform that scales with CEO’s ambitions and continues to compound across every channel we built.

A platform built to grow indefinitely.

The directory architecture, content templates, and SEO foundations let new tool listings ship in days, not weeks — without ever degrading the user experience or search performance.

Organic visibility in a brutally competitive category.

The platform now competes for the high-intent AI tool queries that marketers, founders, and creators search every day — across both individual tool keywords and broader category searches.

A founder brand with real reach.

CEO’s voice is now visible across the directory, the blog, social, and paid — building the kind of recognisable expert presence that turns one-time visitors into long-term followers.

A social presence that feeds the platform.

Facebook and Instagram now consistently route engaged audiences into the directory, the blog, and the 7 Figure Thought Leaders community.

A paid funnel that builds audience, not just clicks.

Campaigns deliver qualified sign-ups into the email list and community — turning ad spend into a compounding asset rather than disposable traffic.

A foundation the whole ecosystem rests on.

The directory is no longer just a website. It’s the central hub of a thought leadership business — and every new piece of content, every new tool, every new campaign makes it more valuable.

The internet has more “best AI tools” lists than anyone needs. Our job for AI Marketing Tools was to build the one that earns the bookmark — through better structure, sharper curation, and a real expert behind every recommendation.

05 — Reflection

Content platforms in the AI era have to do a strange thing. They have to be exhaustive and opinionated at the same time. They have to scale like databases and feel like editorial. They have to rank in Google and earn trust from skeptical readers who have already been burned by ten generic tool lists this week.

The work we did for AI Marketing Tools was, in the end, less about features and more about architecture. The right directory structure made hundreds of tool listings possible without chaos. The right SEO foundation made every new listing a fresh ranking opportunity. The right founder presence made the entire platform feel like it came from a person, not a script. And the right social and paid layer made sure the work was actually seen by the people CEO built it for.

The lesson we carry from this engagement is that platforms compound. A brochure site is finished the day it launches. A platform is just beginning. Every tool added, every blog published, every founder post shared, every campaign optimised — they all stack on top of the work that came before.

AI Marketing Tools continues to grow with us. The directory keeps deepening, the community keeps expanding, and CEO keeps doing what he set out to do — helping marketers, founders, and creators find the AI tools that actually work.

Other wins.
